about me

Celia Ilisch is an contemporary circus artist based in Berlin, specialised in aerial performances.

She trained at former circus school SALTO in Porto, Portugal, for one year and then completed the two-year professional training program at INAC.

She participated in two ensemble shows and graduating with acts in aerial silks in 2024. She performed ‘Mirror Me’ several times, was part of a video project and performed solo acts in cabaret shows and clubs, before relocating to Berlin, Germany.

Creative Direction

My contemporary acts are rooted in vulnerability, and transformation. Through movement, I explore themes of struggle, resilience, hope, and human connection and solitude. While telling stories, I aim to giving space to feminist ideas and perspectives on stage. Inspired by fairy tales, I want to create poetic worlds on stage. I am drawn to the contrasts between strength and softness, fragility and power, solitude and connection — using aerial movement as my language.

TEACHING

Besides performing, I am also actively working as a circus pedagogue and teacher. I have experience working with both young children and adults, creating acts, using creative methods and diverse teaching techniques for all levels, and using circus as a creative and inclusive tool. Currently, I teach regular aerial silks classes on Thursdays at LUFT Berlin.
